  • NGCC Outdoor Rinks

The ODR’s at both sites are open. Practices are held at the Glenlee site on Worthington Avenue on Rink 1. Rink 2 is available for shinny and we have a pleasure ring for families and skaters to use. The Norberry site on Molgat has 2 rinks for shinny and skating.

Rinks and the hockey change area at the Norberry site on Molgat Avenue are accessible every weekday from 10 am until 9 pm, and weekends until 9 pm or later if we have events/staff booked .

Rinks at the Glenlee site are generally cleaned every morning, so you are able to change into skates in one of the players boxes during the day. The building and change area is open from 5 pm to 9:45 pm each weeknight and 10 am to 4:45 pm on the weekends.

Rink lights at both sites stay on until 10 pm , so you may be asked to take your shoes outside if you want to stay longer.

Over the Christmas school break, the hours during the week at the Glenlee site will be 10 am to 10 pm. At both sites, we are closed at 4:45 pm on December 24 and 31st. We are closed on December 25 & 26 so our employees can enjoy Christmas with their families.

PLEASE NOTE – In extreme cold weather, the Glenlee site may not be open, but the Norberry site is always open.

  • Breakfast with Santa

Our annual Breakfast with Santa was a HUGE success once again! We were so busy we didn’t even get any pictures taken of all the activities and food! Families enjoyed the bouncers in the gym, coloring in the MPR and a delicious Pancake Breakfast made and served by Re/Max Performance Realty volunteers. We really can’t thank them enough for their sponsorship and more importantly all the help they give us at the event.

  • NGCC Volunteer Program

At NGCC we include a $30 volunteer fee as part of your registration costs, so each time you register for Mini Soccer, Hockey, Basketball, Softball and Baseball you pay this fee. The money collected from this fee is paid back to parents that volunteer – for a 2 hour shift, we mail you a cheque for $30.

Unfortunately, many parents just pay the fee and don’t volunteer their time, but we just want to point out that showing your children that volunteering at your community centre is important and worthwhile! It plants a seed in them for future opportunities that come from volunteering and can teach them valuable lessons about giving back to their community.

At NGCC you can volunteer for the Pre-Teen dances that we host (usually in February and October), our annual Christmas/Holiday event (usually the second Sunday in December) and at our biggest event of the year held on the first Friday in June, our Knight of Celebration! We also run our canteens at different times of the year.

If you are interested in volunteering or need more information, please contact us at 204-256-6654 or by email at ac.ee1735576627lnelg1735576627-yrre1735576627bron@1735576627ofni1735576627.
