  • NGCC Outdoor Rinks (ODR’s)

Our ODR’s at both sites will be open for skating and practices effective 5 pm Monday, December 8th. Keep in mind, that if it’s snowing outside, we will do our best to clear the rinks ASAP.

At the Glenlee site on Worthington, Monday to Thursday, there are practices on one rink and the other rink is available for shinny/skating. Families can use the oval in the back area for skating – we have a “No Stick” policy for the oval so that families can enjoy it. Monday to Friday, the WJSF is open from 5 pm -10 pm. Weekends it is open 10 am to 5 pm. We ask that if you are staying to skate after hours, that you get your shoes etc. from the building 15 minutes before closing. Skates can be changed in the players boxes.

The Norberry site on Molgat Avenue has 2 rinks available for pleasure skating and shinny. The hockey area to change skates is generally open between 9 am and 10 pm most weekdays and 9 am and 6 pm on weekends. The lights stay on until 10 pm. If there are activities in the CC, the hockey area may be open later, but if not, you can change in the players box.

Reminder that CC rinks are for everyone in the community, so please be respectful of other skaters regardless of their ability.

    Enjoy the rinks!

  • NGCC Volunteer Program

At NGCC we include a $30 volunteer fee as part of your registration costs, so each time you register for Mini Soccer, Hockey, Basketball, Softball and Baseball you pay this fee. The money collected from this fee is paid back to parents that volunteer – for a 2 hour shift, we mail you a cheque for $30.

Unfortunately, many parents just pay the fee and don’t volunteer their time, but we just want to point out that showing your children that volunteering at your community centre is important and worthwhile! It plants a seed in them for future opportunities that come from volunteering and can teach them valuable lessons about giving back to their community.

At NGCC you can volunteer for the Pre-Teen dances that we host (usually in February and October), our annual Christmas/Holiday event (usually the second Sunday in December) and at our biggest event of the year held on the first Friday in June, our Knight of Celebration! We also run our canteens at different times of the year.

If you are interested in volunteering or need more information, please contact us at 204-256-6654 or by email at ac.ee1765235361lnelg1765235361-yrre1765235361bron@1765235361ofni1765235361.
