What is a RSS Feed? How to view RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.

RSS content can be read using software called an "RSS reader," "feed reader" or an "aggregator." The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed's link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.

The initials "RSS" are used to refer to the following formats:

* Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
* RDF Site Summary (RSS 1.0 and RSS 0.90)
* Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91)

RSS formats are specified using XML, a generic specification for the creation of data formats.

NGCC Universal Toilet Room View Full Story Minimize
Posted: February 28, 2023 |

In 2022 our big project here at NGCC... In 2022 our big project here at NGCC was our Universal Toilet Room (UTR). We were thankful for the City of Winnipeg Renovation Grant, the Province's Building Sustainable Communities Grant, a CIPG grant through Councilor Brian Mayes and a grant through the Thomas Sill Foundation! This project improves our facility to now make it even more inclusive, especially for those that need to be attended to in a washroom. The UTR is located just inside the main doors here at the Norberry site on Molgat Avenue, so people attending events here or those using the Accessible Play Park outside can access it easily. The UTR is located where our former storage room was, so we had to create a new storage room with doors off the main hall. We also updated the doors to go into the main hall, making them fully accessible too. To see photos of the project, visit our Facebook page.

Hockey Winnipeg and area associations are excited to announce the creation of our U11 Recreational Program... Hockey Winnipeg and area associations are excited to announce the creation of our U11 Recreational Program in hopes of providing an accessible and inclusive introduction to the sport of hockey for youth ages 9-10 years old. The recreational program is a co-ed, 20 week program beginning in October and runs until the middle of March. It will consist of 1 game per week, played every Saturday at St. Vital Arena with an emphasis on basic skill development and games in a fun and relaxed environment. All skill levels are welcomed with no previous hockey experience needed. Due to limited space availability, players cannot simultaneously play organized hockey and participate in the recreational program. The cost of the program is approximately $350 per player. Registration is now open here. Questions? Please reach out to the Grassroots Program Coordinator, Janelle at grassroots@hockeywinnipeg.ca or 204-784-5454 ext. 4.

What a great night we had...so many people to open the Play Park and take part in all the fun! It was an overwhelming success with tons of people here. Thanks to Brian Mayes, Rochelle Squires and Jamie Moses for coming down and sharing this moment with us. Thank you to the volunteers that showed up, the vendors who provided everyone with bouncing fun, cotton candy, games, races and artistry for kids faces and memories. A HUGE thank you to our Special Events Directors Tiffany and Rachel, who put in hours of work planning, shopping and supervising last night. To our Board of Directors that also showed up to help out and manage lines, cook hot dogs, put out fires and clean up throughout the evening - you already do enough and you do more when asked! To the 500-600 people that came to support us and take part in the first community celebration in way too long - THANK YOU. For understanding that the overwhelming success meant long lineups for everything, and the fact that the 300 hot dogs and 20 extra large pizzas were still not enough food to give away, no one complained or yelled (that we know of anyway)! To Archangel Fireworks - thank you for an absolutely AWESOME Fireworks display! So many people stayed to watch and pulled over to enjoy them. It was just what our community needed! Our photographer Cindy Phelan took over 200 photos. Check them out on our Facebook page or you can also see them here. Make sure you check out and like our page for all things Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre.

The occasion was marked with a dedication ceremony on Sunday, May 10th.
